Global Impact & Ministries

Posted on Mar 17 , 2011 in Global Impact & Ministries

Our passion is to heed the “great commission” of Jesus Christ and make a difference globally through Christian mission. We support several ministries who see Aberdeen as their mission. We also support individuals and organisations abroad who touch the world with transforming love of Jesus.

Beata Wozna (pictured on the left) in partnership with Theresa Wilson (right) are working with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea. They are translating the Bible for the first time into the Seimat language (a people group in the Ninigo Islands). If you would like to be involved in supporting them, please contact us at office@aberdeencf.com and request the attention of Tracy Taylor.

We also have the privilege of supporting the ministry of Barnabas Fund as they draw the world’s attention to the plight of persecuted Christians throughout the world. Please contact us at office@aberdeencf.com and request the attention of Beth Wilson for more information. The church has also established links with several ministries and individuals in this past year.

We have been privileged to support several workers who are active in the ministries of The Slavic Gospel Association, India Village Ministries, Friends International, Tear Fund, CAMEO and Missionary Aviation Fellowship. Contact us at office@aberdeencf.com if you wish to be involved in any of these ministries through the church.

With increases in workload, responsibility and stress it can be difficult to navigate the day to day as a Christian man.

Are you feeling stressed?

Are you tired?

Well, these are perfectly normal feelings that are shared by all of us. At ACF, our Men's group seeks to be a fortnighly refuge from the day-to-day where we can study the word, pray and share fellowship around issues that will help us to support each other and grow as men in all areas of our lives.

If you are free we would love you to come and join us. It doesn't matter if you have never been along before, you will be made to feel more than welcome.

We meet every second Thursday, 7:30pm @ Aberdeen Christian Fellowship

Below you will find a list of our meeting dates and the topics that will be covered.

Current Study: Transformation of a Man's Heart

"If we're honest with ourselves, we'll admit that we're not the men we wish we were. Not only our dreams but our values are vulnerable to external forces and internal chaos: the wounds inflicted on us as well as the comprimises we've allowed ourselves to make. In this this discussion guide, inspired by the Transformation of a Man's Heart, you'll be reminded that wherever we find ourselves, God is there with us, inviting us forward onto a new and better path." - H.Baker, G.Dalbey and S.W. Smith

Local Impact

Posted on Oct 28 , 2009 in Local Impact

Jesus said: ‘You are the salt of the earth . . . .
You are the light of the world . . .’ (Matt 5.13, 14)

Our passion is to make a powerful impact locally on our community through a variety of evangelistic and outreach programmes. We are reaching the community with both proclamation and social ministries.
While we believe that reaching the community is a command of our Lord, Jesus, to the whole church, some members have the responsibility of exploring different ways of doing so, and offering guidance and support to those involved in any outreach programme. ACF’s Local Impact team comprises Donna Cuthill, Aileen Johnstone, Fiona Dunbar, Bob Dunbar and is led by Joy Gillespie. These folks would be delighted to hear any suggestion you may have to reach others with the Good News.

The Step -  If you are S1-S6 (11-18 years old) and have nothing to do during your lunch break, come along to The Step for a game of pool, table tennis, table football or challenge your mates on the x-box! The cafe is open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday during term time 12.30-1.30pm at Aberdeen Christian Fellowship.

Fuel Youth Cafe – gives a chance for young people (P7-S3; 10-14 years old) to meet friends and make new ones, play pool or table tennis, hang out in the cafe and learn a little about what fuels us through life. During school term time, we meet fortnightly on Friday night, 7:00-9:00pm, at the church.

Diesel – Going Further offers an opportunity for young people (S3-S6; 14-18 years old) that already know Jesus as their Saviour to be encouraged and motivated in their walk with Him. Each month we have three Bible studies and one evening volunteering at Somebody Cares food warehouse, making up food packages and boxing tins of food for underprivileged people in Aberdeen. We meet every Monday night 7:00-9:15pm at the church.

Ignite – breaks off from the Sunday Morning Service each week to take time studying the Bible. The studies are targeted towards youth P7-S2;10-13 years old.

We invite you to ‘Think BiG’: Bridge-it Groups. These groups meet in various locations throughout Aberdeen and at various times of the week. BiGroups help us cross life’s bridges together as we move towards greater Christian maturity and personal fulfilment. Experience the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, love of God the Father and communion of the Holy Spirit within the loving community of God’s people. Grow through life’s seasons with Bridge-it Groups.

Different BiGroups are doing different studies on ways we are able to engage society with the good news of Jesus. If you are interested in joining a group near you or for more information contact Brian Boyd
